Buddha Jayanti (also known as Buddha Purnima) is the most important and sacred festival of Buddhism and hinduism. Lord Buddha is founder of the Buddhism. He is considered as the incarnation of lord Vishnu by Hindus. This festival ommemorates the important events of God Buddha’s life. His birth, enlightment and Death.
Bodh Gaya, Kushinagar, Lumbini, and Sarnath are the important places related to Lord Buddha. On Buddha purnima day, people assembe at one place and listen to monks and recite prayers. Buddha purnima is observed on the full moon day of the Vaishaka month. This year, Buddha purnima is on Thursday, 7th May 2020.
