Varuthini Ekadashi is celebrated on the eleventh day of waning phase of moon in the month of March/April. It is observed in the hindu lunar month of Vaisakh accordng to purnimant calenders. According to amavasyant calenders, it falls in the month of chaitra. This year, Varuthini Ekadashi is on Friday, 4th May 2035.
Observing Varuthini Ekadashi make a person fortunate, prosperous and helps in redemption of sins and in attaining moksha. The significance of this Ekadasi fasting was explained to Yudhishtira by God Sri Krishna in the Bhavishyottara Purana. This ekadashi is dedicated to God Vishnu and all the regular fasting rules attached to Ekadasi are observed during Varuthini Ekadasi.
