kalash

Pooja setup:
Place a stool and on top of it spread a new cloth. Pour new rice on it and place the kalash on top of it. The kalsah should be filled with some water and put very few akishtalu (turmeric rice) in it. Place the Mango tree leave and keep the coconut in inverted position on top of the kalash. Cover the upper part of the coconut with the cloth.

This finishes the set up of the Kalash as shown in the pciture beside.

After this a Ganapati made of Turmeric has to be prepared.

Take about 25gm of Turmeric pour water in it so that it becomes wet like a thick paste and shape it into a pyramid. Place kumkum on top of it. Your turmeric or pasupu Ganapati is ready.

First we do the pooja to the pasupu(turmeric) ganapati : It is a well known fact that Ganapathi is the lord of Vighnas(obstacles) and hence it is a custom that one should worship Ganesha so that whatever work they do should be free from obstacles and the work can be completed successfully.

Follow the pasupu Ganapthi pooja vidhanam and after the the pooja starts for Goddess Lakshmi.

Pooja of Goddess Lakshmi:

Then we have to do ACHAMAYA

We do this by taking three spoons of water telling the below mantras

om keyshavayah svaahaa   (take one spoon of water)

om naaraayanaaya svaahaa (take one spoon of water)

om maadhavaaya svaahaa  (take one spoon of water)

then we go ahead and say the Govinda namas:

om govindhaaya namah,  om vishnavey namah,

om madhusoodhanaaya namah, om thrivikramaaya namah,

om vaamanaaya namah, om shreedharaaya namah,
