What is Tala Navami? Tal Nabami Vrat, Tala Nabami, Navami Vrat

Tala Navami is a famous festival in the states of Orissa and Bengal. Tala Navami is observed on the ninth day of the waxing phase of the moon in the month of Bhadra or Bhadra sukla Navami as per the north Indian calendar .

Tala Navami is a festival of Goddess Durga. Devotees visit the temple of Goddess Durga on Tala Navami. The significance of Tala Navami is that the prepartion for the Dassera Durgashtami are started. i.e Preparations for Durgashtami start from Tala Navami.

It is a common practice to observe a fast on Tala Navami and break the fast after seeing the  moon.
