Pradosham is an important day dedicated to God Shiva. Pradosham falls on the trayodashi (13th day) of every Paksham. On pradosham days, devotees of Hindu God Shiva fast from sunrise to sunset and they break the fast after performing the Pradosh pooja. If Pradosham falls on Shani Varam, Then it is called as Shani Pradosham. Saturday is dedicated to God Shani. It is belived that performing Shani puja on this day please God Shani and relive them from Shani Dosha.
