Pradosham falls on the 13th day of every lunar fortnight in traditional Hindu calendar. Lord Shiva is worshipped on this day. Shani pradosh is the Pradosha day falling on Shanivar. Shani is widely believed to be the trouble maker and it is believed that fasting and prayer on Pradosham day will keep relive from the harmful effects of God Shani.
