The Bhadra Kali temple of warangal celebrates the shakambari utsavam in the month of Ashada. This festival will be celebrated 15 days long. The festival starts on Ashada sudha padyami the first day of Ashada and would end on July 3 i.e on Ashada Poornima or Guru Poornima or Vyasa Poornima. During these days the deity is decorated with various vegetables.
Sakamabri means saka in sanskrit means vegetable and amabri mean bearing hence as the deity is decorated with different vegetables the utsava is called as shakambari utsavam.
On the last day on July 3 there will be a mahakalsabhishekam performed followed by decorating the deity as mahashakambari devi.
Thousands of devotees would throng the temple to have a glimpse of the goddess.
