The last day of the waxing phase of the moon is called as purnima in telugu calendar. Purnima is the end of the  sukla paksha  of the telugu month. This is considered sacred as the moon is complete and in its poorna (complete) form.

This month purnima date is 23rd June, 2013. Since this falls on hindu month of Jyaishta, it is called as Jyaishta Purnima. People visit temples on this day. Lot of festivals are also on this day. It is adviced to perform satyanarayan Vrat on this day.
