On Polala Amavasya, Godess Poleramma is worshipped. Goddess Poleramma is the Godess that protects the Polimera or outskirts of the village. She is the Kula Divam or house deity for few families. Special puja is done to Poleramma during Polala Amavasya.
The puja normally includes of a Bonam and Sacrifice to satisfy the Goddess Poleramma. Polala Amavasya is observed with great devotion in parts of Andhra Pradesh.
