What is Parama Ekadashi? Adhika Bhadrapada Bahula Ekadashi , Adhika Bhadrapada Krishna Paksha Ekadashi , Ekadashi of Adhika Masam , Ekadashi of Adhik Masa

Ekadashi or Ekadasi is the eleventh day of the Telugu Month. A Ekadashi that comes in the Adhika Masam or Adhika Masa in the 2nd fort night of the  month is called Parama Ekadashi. The Bahula or Krishna Pakhsa Ekadashi of an Adhika Masam or Masa is known as Parama Ekadashi.

For the year 2012, the Adhika Masam is the month Bhadrapada and hence the Ekadashi on the Adhika Bhadrapada Masam is known as Parama Ekadashi.

Ekadashi is an auspicious day for the devotees of Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu has created this day to help the devotees get rid of their miseries and live happily. Devotees observe a fast on Ekadashi to please Lord Vishnu. Devotees also observe the Ekadashi Vrat to get rid of specific problems. Each Ekadashi is called by a specific name, as observing a Ekadashi Vrat on that Ekadashi would produce the result as it is named.

Parama Ekadashi, would cleanse from all the sins that were done in all the previous birth. Parama Ekadashi Vrat if observed will grant you liberation from the cycle of life and death. Parama Ekadashi Vrat would grant a devotee salvation.
