Margashira shukla Sashti is celebrated as Subramanya Sashti. On the festival day people wake up early in the morning take ritual bath, perform Subramanya puja and keep fast. God Subramanyan is worshiped in the form of five headed snake. Devotees also worship Shankapaala, the serpent on this day.
Shankapalantargatha bharati ramana mukya pranantargatha sri Sankarshanaya nama:|
We have to chant this mantra while inviting Subramanya.
“Om ram skandhaaya nama: Om”
