Gita Jayanti, marks the birth of most important and influential Hindu scripture “Srimadbagavad Gita”. Gita Jayanti celebrated on Margshirsh Shukla Ekadashi. This is the day when God Krishna explained the knowledge of Bhagavad gita to Arjuna. This year Gita Jayanti will be celebrated on Friday, 13th December 2013.
The Bhagavad Gita is not just a sacred book of hindus, but also influence the way of living. It explains the concept of soul and human duties. On this day special pujas are performed in God Vishnu temples. Bagavad Gita Slokas are chanted. Mokshada Ekadasi is also celebrated on the Gita Jayanti day.
