Gita Jayanti is celebrated as the birth day of Srimad Bhagavad Gita, the sacred text of the Hindus. This festival is observed on the Eleventh day (Kkadashi) of Shukla Paksha (waxing moon period) in the Hindu lunar month of Margashira. On this day Lord Sri Krishna revealed the Bagavad gita to Arjuna. This year gita jayanti falls on Sunday, 23rd December 2012.
