Champa is a six day long festival celebrated from the pratipada day to Sashti day during the month of Margashirsha. Sixth day (Champa Sashti) of this festival has a great significance. This festival is dedicated to God Khandoba. God Khandoba is a form of God Shiva. This festival is celebrated in a grand manner in Jejuri, Maharashtra. This year, Champa festival starts on 14th December and ends on 18th December, 2012.

Chamba Sashti marks the victory of Lord Khandoba over demons Mani and Malla. God Khandoba fought Mani and Malla for six days and defeated them on the Champa Sashti day. Khandoba is also called as Malhari Martand, Khanderaya, Khanderao and Mallu Khan. This day is also celebrated as Subramanya shashti in other areas.
