Ashwayuja maasam has a lot of significance in Hindu philosophy and is the seventh month in the hindu lunar calender. Purnima (Full Moon day) during Ashwiyuja masam is known as Ashwiyuja Purnima, during this day moon comes nearer to the constellation of Ashwin star and hence this month is known as Ashwayuja.
