Goddess Durga is worshipped as Goddess Siddhidatri on the ninth day and last day of Navratri. The meaning of the name Siddhidatri is Siddhi means power and Dhatri is one who can give, therefore Siddhidatri is the one who can give the devotees Siddhis.
Appearance of Goddess Siddhidatri
Goddess Siddhidhatri has four arms and is seated on a Lotus flower. In one of the arms she holds a mace, in another arm a Sudarshana Chakra, a Conch in one of the arms and a Lotus flower in the remaining arm. Her vehicle is Lion.
Goddess Siddhidatri is always surrounded by deva, danava, kinnera, kimpursha, manava and all the beings of all worlds worshipping her for the siddhis.
Benefits of worshipping Goddess Siddhidatri
There are 8 types of Siddhis
Anima, Mahima, Garima, Laghima, Prapti, Prakaamya, Ishitva and Vashitva.
There are 10 types of achievements
1)Sarvakamavasayita 2) Sarvagyatava 3) Dura Shravana 4)Parkaya Pravesha 5) Vakk siddhi 6)Kalpa vrikshatava 7)Srishti 8)Samhara karana samarthya 9)Amartva and 10)Sarvanyaykatva.
Goddess Siddhidhatri is the one who can grant all the above 18 siddhis to the one who worship her.
There is also a legend which states that God Shiva had obtained all these Siddhis by worshipping Goddess Siddhidatri. And in return Lord Shiva had given half of his body to Goddess Siddhidhatri thereby becoming Ardhanarishwari.
She is the one who would clear all the doubts in mind and would bring about realization that everything is from the same supreme source.
