The Ekadashi that occurs during the sukla paksha of the Bhadrapada month is known as Parsava Ekadashi. Parsava Ekadashi occurs on the eleventh day of the waxing phase of the moon in the month of Bhadrapada as per the lunar calendar.

Ekadashi is one of the most auspicious day for the devotees of Lord Vishnu. All the devotees would observe the Parsava Ekadashi Vrat. It is believed that by observing the Parsava Ekadashi vrat one is relieved from all the sins that he had done. It is also believed that Lord Vishnu who went into sleep on Sayana Ekadashi would turn on the Parsava Ekadashi day.

Parsava Ekadashi is one of the Ekadashi that falls during the period of  Chaturmas Vrat  and the virtue or Punya that is accumulated during this period is of high value than the one that is accumulated during normal months.

Devotees would read the Parsava Ekadashi Vrat Katha on Parsava Ekadashi.

Parsava Ekadashi is also known as Parvartini or Parivartana EkadashiVamana Ekadashi , Jayanti Ekadashi.
