Jyeshta is the third month in the traditional Hindu lunar calender. Full moon day of this month is known as the Jyeshta Purnima. Moon persists with Jyeshta nakshatra on this day. This month is believed to be associated to the Lord Brahma, creator of the world. According to Dharmasindhu, worshiping Lord Brahma is auspicious during Jyesta masam.

As per Purnimant calenders, Jyeshta month in begins on 15th May 2014 and ends on 14th June 2014. Purnimant Calender fallowed in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Bihar. Narada Jayanti, Apara Ekadashi, Vat Savitri Vrat, Shani Jayanti, Ganga Dussehra, Nirjala Ekadashi and Vat Purnima Vrati are the major festivals during this month.

According to Amavasyant calenders, Jyeshta masam starts on 29th May 2014 and ends on 28th June 2014. This calender fallowed by Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Karnataka. Ganga Dussehra, Nirjala Ekadashi, Vat Purnima Vrat and Yogini Ekadashi are the auspicious days during the Jyeshta Masam.
