Ganesh festival lasts for 10 days and ends on Anant Chaturthi. In 2012, Ganesh Chaturthi falls on 19th September, Wednesday and Anant Chaturthi is celebrated on September 29th.

If that is the case then the 10th day should be 28 September not 29th. Can this be please clarified?

      Hi Jd,
Ananth Chaturthi is nothing but Bhadrapada Sudha Chaturdasi which is the 14 th day of the month. So generally the differnce in the number of days from chaviti to chaturdasi is 10 days. Hence immersion is done after ten days excluding Ganesh Chaturthi. Therefore the date is 29th September
