The normal process of observing the Ekadashi Vrat Vidhan is to observe a fast on Ekadashi for whole day and night. Staying awake the whole night of Ekadashi singing or reciting solkas of Lord Vishnu. Eating the food only on the next day during the Dwadashi timings. Eating after feeding a Brahmin on Dwadashi day is advised. Reading of the Ekadashi Vrat Katha is a common ritual during the Ekadashi Vrat.
